Photosynthesis is a process used by plants and other organisms to convert light energy, normally from the sun, into chemical energy that can be later released to fuel the organisms' activities.

Plants are GREEN because they have green Chloroplasts, Chloroplasts are green because they contain the green pigment chlorophyll in their thylakoid membranes. Chlorophyll is a pigment that absorbs red and blue light.

So plants are green because chlorophyll reflects green light that we see. And chlorophyll is found in all plants because it is the molecule that absorbs the light that is used to make sugar their own food.
